Imagine entering a small town. It's 4pm, the sun is setting and the sound of Cuban music fills the air. People smile and say "hola' as you drive by with the car windows rolled down.  Posted by Hello

Oh! Cuba!
That is a whole other posting my dear! I will talk about that at length soon! (And I have lots to say!!)
In brief - it is wonderful but sad. It really is a 3rd world country frozen in time. The land, the people are beautiful, but the political environment is horrible, but you can be sure that you don't have to worry about walking around the city streets at night (I have not been to Havana yet, so I can't say about the biggest and most popular city) as it is a police state. I walked around at 2am in a small town and all I came across were friendly Cubanos asking me if I wanted to join them in some Rum and songs.

Sigh. As I type this, I hear the announcement on the raido : "Win a trip for two to sunny Cuba!!".
Weird coincidence...
